Adopting an older dog or puppy takes dedication, patience and time. If you are interested in any of our adoptable dogs featured here, contact us and we will interview you to see if you will be compatable with one of our wonderful dogs.  We will not fly any of these dogs to their new homes, must meet in person.

Adult Adoption...

 This dog will absolutely not be placed into a rescue or shelter or in a rescue program/foster home under any circumstances. If for any reason, the  dog cannot be kept, we must be contacted prior to any transfer or to help find a suitable home. We do not charge for our services and may already have a application approved and waiting for a retired dog.

If you are currently fostering a dog or plan to foster a dog for a rescue within the next 3-6 months, we will ask you to wait before considering one of our adoptions. Dogs are pack animals, and will bond to other dogs. If the situation is where foster dogs will be coming or going while the dog that is adopted from us is still adjusting, we will not make that placement. We do not discourage fostering for any rescue, however, we do ask that you give your new adopted dog time to adjust to his or her lifestyle before bringing in a foster dog that will more than likely be leaving again. The fact that dogs are pack animals and that we ask them to adapt their lifestyle and schedule to fit ours, we feel a stable environment to adjust to a new family-especially for an adult-is a must. In all fairness to, it is very difficult to make an assessment of a foster dog when he or she is with another dog that is trying to adapt themselves.

All approved applicants must sign a contract that will include the following before any transfer is made: By initialing above and signing this agreement, the buyer states that they are not a member of a rescue purchasing this dog to adopt out in the 'best interests' of the dog or under false pretenses. In addition, the buyer must not be engaged in purchasing dogs and reselling them, regardless if non-profit or as a business. Lastly, the said dog must not and will not be purchased for any sort of research-medical or otherwise, or activity that will lead to harm or death. If any of these are found in violation, "My Shadow" Companions will immediately file a breach of contract and take the neccessary steps to either reclaim the dog, press criminal charges, or a lawsuit. *We will not tolerate any violations of this contract*

We extensively interview our potential homes for our puppies and we do the same for our adoptable adults.
